Lamb humanize drum and bass by adding a female voice, but don't expect Louise Rhodes' detached singing to soften their sound, only to make it more interesting. Her lonely wail is just another "vegetable" in a chunky soup of breaks, jazzy fragments, and jungle rhythms. A twist from d-n-b, a turn from trip-hop -- Lamb pegged a unique, avant-garde sound on this debut.
