Katie Webster
Katie Webster first came to prominence in the 1950s, when both her over-the-top persona and ham-fisted blues piano style were regarded as Louisiana state treasures. A period of semi-obscurity was broken in the mid-1980s when she recorded a whopper of a comeback album supported by such big names as Robert Cray and Bonnie Raitt. While Webster is best known for her lethal left hand and ebullient Swamp Blues flourishes, she is also an accomplished singer, performing standards and originals with her trademark delivery.
