Striking a nerve in pop music world (and industry) of the new century, Katie Melua picked up where Norah Jones left off. Producer/songwriter Mike Batt discovered the talented young lady and her debut "Call Off The Search" hit the shelves in late 2003. Melua was born in Soviet Georgia in 1984 and, unlike most others from that part of the world, made the most of it in almost no time. Filled with almost only cover songs, her debut sold extremely well and satisfied jazz and blues listeners alike. Looks like we probably have only seen the beginning.
