Julien Clerc

The French singer and pianist Julien Clerc released his first song "La Cavalerie" amidst the political turmoil of 1968. The song impressed listeners and fellow entertainers alike. Clerc was quickly opening for established performers like Adamo and Bécaud. With his writing partner Etienne Roda-Gil, Clerc produced "Ivanovitch", "La Californie", "Niagara", "Ce n'est Rien", and "Le Coeur Volcan". The hits rocketed the singer to stardom. He began touring outside of France, in Japan, Africa, and Canada. Later, he worked with other writers including Jean-Loup Dabadie and Maxime Le Forestier.
