Trumpet virtuoso Jon Faddis burst onto the scene as a teenager with style that bore uncanny resemblance to Dizzy Gillespie. Over the years his style's evolved beyond imitation, but has looked backwards in time rather than forwards, recalling Swing and Chicago hot-jazz as well as classic Bop.
