Born in 1970, in California, John Frusciante dropped out of school when he discovered the guitar. Frusciante joined the Red Hot Chili Peppers in 1988 who released “Mothers Milk” in 1989. The next album “Blood Sugar Sex Magik” put the band on the map. He left the group in 1992 and put out two solo efforts, 1995's “Niandra Lades and Usually Just a T-Shirt” and 1997's “Smile From the Streets You Hold”. Frusciante re-joined the band to issue “Californication” in 1999 to huge sales and “By The Way” in 2002. He continued releasing solo albums as well as working on new songs with the Peppers.
