Jim Morrison

Rock icon Jim Morrison was the leader of seminal 70's band The Doors. They recorded various number one albums but Morrison also recorded one solo release, "An American Prayer". On his 27th birthday, in 1970, Morrison took 23 deep and tender poems with him into the Village Recorders studio in Los Angeles and emerged with the landmark recording on which guitarist Robby Krieger and John Haeny acted as producer/engineers. A few years later, the rest of The Doors set the poems to music and the entire volume was released in 1979. Warner Music re-released "An American Prayer" in 1995.
