The glam rock outfit Hanoi Rocks formed in 1980 in Helsinki, Finland. In 1981 the band moved to Stockholm, Sweden and from there onwards to London, England, taking advantage of the lively music scenes of those cities. Their songs about love and suburban alienation won them a cult following, and they were cited as influences by big-name bands such as Guns N’Roses. Their full-length releases included albums like “Bangkok Shocks, Saigon Shakes, Hanoi Rocks” (1981), “Self Destruction Blues” (1983) and “Another Hostile Takeover” (2005).
