A dedicated singer from a young age, it was as an actor that a young Florent Pagny had his first break-through. With a couple films under his belt, he recorded the single "N'importe Quoi" in 1987. The single, a cautionary tale of the dangers of drug abuse, was a major hit, selling over a million copies. Pagny went on to have a love-hate relationship with the press, releasing a number of successful album, but often criticized for his behavior offstage.
