Born on August 13, 1958 in Ireland, singer Feargal Sharkey began his musical journey signing in the new wave band The Undertones. At the end of a 5-year run with the band, Sharkey decided to go solo. Produced by the Eurythmics’ Dave Stewart and arranger Michael Kamen, a self-titled LP became a success in the UK. A cover version of Maria McKee’s “A Good Heart” was released as a single, reaching the top of the charts in 1983. Later in the year Sharkey sang on the EP “Never Never” by the Assembly. Though he continued releasing material into the 80’s, his popularity faded.
