Faron Young was a legendary country singer also known as "the Hillbilly Heartthrob" or the "Singing Sheriff" hence the name of his backing group the Deputies. Born in Louisiana in 1932, Young was still a teen when he joined a famous country music radio show, the Louisiana Hayride, which had launched the careers of Elvis Presley and Hank Williams. After serving in the Korean war Young became a star with country hits such as "Live Fast, Love Hard, Die Young". Fame and fortune having faded by the late 70's, Young made an end to his life in 1996.
