Evelyn Champagne King
The singer of such hits as "Love Come Down" and "Shame," King was one of the few 1970s Disco divas to prosper on the R&B and dance charts of the '80s. Although she owns a bubbly set of vocal chops, King's career didn't survive the '90s -- but she could probably make a comeback now that Neo-Soul artists are welcome in the age of rap.
