Engine Alley
Intelligent, androgynous Brit Pop. Engine Alley's music seems tailor-made for mature Indie kids who attended Ride shows in the early 1990s and used to put Stone Roses songs on mix tapes for loved ones. Textured tapestries of Mancunian guitars swirl around rootsy harmonica blasts and Jangle-Pop influences. They possess both the wit of the Beautiful South and the charm of the Trash Can Sinatras in their own personalized musical vacuum. Although the band have been around since the late 1980s and their line-up has drastically changed in that time, their songwriting and recording tastes have matured like a fine California wine.
