Eddie and the Hot Rods

Although firmly based on the foundations of blues, the pace and aggressiveness of the U.K. band Eddie & The Hotrods, formed in London in 1975, made them part of the rising wave of punk. Their 1976 debut EP "Live at the Marquee" skimmed the Top 40 and their first LP, released in the same year, became a minor success. But at the end of the seventies their popularity waned due to tougher, louder and probably younger outfits taking the centre stage. After their fourth album "Fish & Chips" was widely ignored the band called it a day in 1981.
