The Dixie Chicks' popular Top of the World summer tour will be commemorated with a two-CD live album bearing the tour's name, due November 25th.
Top of the World was recorded during the sixty-six date North American leg of the group's tour and includes twenty-two songs from the band's three studio albums. Due the same day will be a DVD that will feature eighteen songs and a bonus video for "Top of the World," a track from the Chicks' 2002 release Home.
The Dixie Chicks' North American tour followed a controversy storm when singer Natalie Maines made some critical remarks about President George W. Bush during a Top of the World tour stop in London. Despite some early backlash, the group's North American dates were a success, with a record 867,000 tickets selling on the first day.
In other Chicks news, the group was honored with the Defenders of Democracy Award by the United Way earlier this week.
