Deodato
Deodato was born as Eumir Deodato Almeida in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on June 21, 1942. After working as an arranger in Brazil, he moved to the United States in 1967. There, he was involved in the blossoming bossa nova movement. He wrote for acts such as Wes Montgomery, Frank Sinatra and Aretha Franklin, but is best remembered for his catchy adaptation of "Also Sprach Zarathustra (Theme from 2001: A Space Odyssey)", taken from his 1973 album "Prelude". Since then, Deodato has worked as a producer and arranger as well as releasing own efforts.
