From an early age, Cyndi Thomson wanted to sing like Trisha Yearwood. She even left her small town digs in Tifton, Ga. to attend Belmont University (the same school Yearwood attended). But Thomson's dusty, high-range singing was unique enough to land her a record deal in Nashville before she even graduated college. Although Thomson still sounds a bit like Yearwood, the subtle sultriness of her style seems to rise closer to the top with each new recording.
