Corneille
Corneille Nyungura was born on March 24, 1977 in Freiburg, Germany as the son of Rwandan students. He grew up in Rwanda, where he won a talent contest as a teenager. In 1994 his entire family was massacred. Corneille fled to Europe and finally settled in Canada where he co-founded the R’n’B outfit O.N.E. in the late nineties. In 2001 Corneille went solo; his 2002 single “Avec Classe” became a hit in France. His debut album “Parce qu’on Vient de Loin”, released in the same year, also fared well. Apart from his work as a musician Corneille is also a spokesperson for the Canadian Red Cross.
