The German experimental techno outfit Cobra Killer consists of Annika Line Trost and Gina V. D’Orio. Splicing together a dark, weird collage of sound materials and often disjointed vocals they released their self-titled debut offering in the year 1999; it was followed by “The Third Armpit” in 2002. Their 2004 album “76/77” incorporated psychobilly elements, but they managed to distort them into their very own thing, keeping the unique Cobra sound alive. They also opened for Sonic Youth – causing Thurston Moore to admit: “They completely knocked us out”.
