Revisionist popsters Chromeo released their dance album "She's in Control" to mostly favourable reviews in 2004. Chromeo is made up of two musicians working under the aliases Dave One and Pee Thug. Lifelong friends, their collaboration has had an impact among dance music fans outside their home city of Montreal. Their debut album is a party-music pastiche of 80's funk revival. The tracks are heavy on the synths, danceable, but not deep. The group also released the 2003 single "Destination Overdrive". By and large, this retro kitsch aesthetic is handled with care.
