The British progressive rock band Camel was formed in 1972 in Surre by Andrew Latimer (guitar, flute, vocals), bassist Doug Ferguson, drummer Andy Ward and keyboardist Peter Bardens. The band released a self-titled debut in 1973, followed by the LPs “Mirage” and “The Snow Goose” which entered the UK Top 30. 1976’s release of “Moonmadness” broke the band in the US. With the emergence of punk rock in the early 80’s Camel saw a decline in popularity. They continued releasing albums, however, throughout the following two decades. “Harbour of Tears” was released in 1996.
