The indie rock outfit British Sea Power formed in the year 2000 in Brighton, England. They were first noted because of their eccentric, wild live shows, which included large stuffed birds and militaristic uniforms. Their first two singles, “Fear of Drowning” and “Remember Me”, saw release in 2001 and drew comparisons to Joy Division. Their debut full-length album, the post-punk offering “The Decline of British Sea Power”, hit the shelves in 2003, their sophomore effort, the more relaxed, string-heavy “Open Season”, followed in 2005.
