Beth Nielsen Chapman

Texan Beth Nielsen Chapman headed to Nashville upon the advice of Beach Boy Bruce Johnston, who heard her sing in an Alabama bar. An immensely successful career as a songwriter followed. Aside from writing number ones for Willie Nelson and Lorrie Morgan, Chapman wrote for the band Alabama, Faith Hill and Trisha Yearwood. To her credit are also many solo albums, including "You Hold the Key", "Deeper Still" and "Look". She also started a series of traditional songs from various faiths, and Elton John performed the moving title track from her 1997 "Sand and Water" several times in concert.
