Two of rock's most gifted impressionists, Portishead vocalist Beth Gibbons and former Talk Talk member Paul Webb (a.k.a. Rustin Man) have collaborated on the 2002 album "Out of Season". This recording was a departure for Gibbons from her previously released material with her band Portishead. It found her vocals warmer and standing in the center of a delicate arrangement, more loyal to the singer/songwriter genre than she ever had been before. The album's quiet strength was received enthusiastically by critics as well as Gibbons' loyal fans.
