The smooth jazz trio BWB's name stands for Rick Braun (trumpet), Kirk Whalum (saxophone) and Grammy winner Norman Brown (guitar). In 2003 the three outstanding instrumentalists – Whalum once played the notorious sax solo on Whitney Houston’s mega hit "I Will Always Love You" – decided to join forces and released "Groovin’", an album full of cover versions of songs by the likes of Alicia Keys, Curtis Mayfield and George Clinton. They were joined by bass player Christian McBride, drummer Gregory Hutchinson and Ricky Peterson on keyboards who also produced the recordings.
