The Swedish pop group Army of Lovers was formed in 1987 by songwriter/producer Alexander Bard who recruited hairdresser Jean-Pierre Barda, Yazmina Chantal and model Camilla Henemark to create a highly stylish, over-the-top campy act. Their first two singles, “When the Night Is Cold” and “Love Me Like a Loaded Gun” were released in 1988. In 1991 the band issued the LP “Massive Luxury Overdose” which became their biggest hit on the wings of the singles “Crucified” and “Obsession”. Enjoying the status of superstars in their own country, “Les Greatest Hits” was released in 1996.
