Andrew Lloyd Webber
( b. London, 22 March 1948). English composer.
He has written musicals in a highly eclectic style (Jesus Christ Superstar, 1971; Evita, 1978; Cats, 1981; Starlight Express, 1984; The Phantom Of the Opera, 1986; Aspects of Love, 1989) and a requiem (1984). His brother Julian (b. 1951), a cellist, is a pupil of Fournier and has given premieres of works by Bliss and Rodrigo.
