Amel Larrieux

It was almost impossible for Amel Larrieux not to grow into an artistic job. Coming from Greenwich Village, NY, USA, her mother was a dance critic and had nothing against her daughter forming the duo Groove Theory. GT scored a Top Ten hit with "Tell Me" and a well received debut followed. After that she sang for the band Sweetback (former mates of Sade) and released her own first solo album in 2000, called "Infinite Possibilities". Her yearning voice is her distinguishing mark, and her sound reminiscent of artists as Alicia Keys or Lauryn Hill.
