Al Kooper
Al Kooper, born February 5, 1944 in Brooklyn, New York, is one of those great musicians that you probably have never heard of. He was a session musician for the likes of Bob Dylan, Tom Petty, and Joe Walsh, a songwriter (he co-wrote the hit song "The Diamond Ring", and a producer (he signed the British band the Zombies and discovered Lynyrd Skynrd). Kooper also led the bands Blues Project and Blood, Sweat & Tears. In recent years he has been staying busy, leading comeback projects by both of these bands and also doing a few solo projects.
