The heavy metal band Accept was started in 1973 by singer Udo Dirkschneider in Solingen, Germany. Accept is characterized by their heavy, aggressive sound and Dirkschneider's screeching singing. Their albums "Restless and Wild", and "Balls to the Wall" are two classics in the heavy metal world, although the group never made it big in the United States. The album features the single "Fast as a Shark," which some consider the first true thrash metal recording. Accept released "Death Row" in 1994 and "Predator" in 1996, after which they disbanded for good.
