3 are a jazz and fusion band from Germany. The trio takes a more improvisational and European approach to jazz by incorporating traditional music spanning from Russia and Poland to Germany and France. Formed in the late 90's, the three-piece act consists of members Pianist Christian Henze, bass player Jan Kazda and drummer Diethard Stein. All three members of the group have previously been involved in other jazz- and fusion acts in Germany. In 2003 the Hamburg-based JazzSick Records label issued the Alex Gunia-produced "Karaguna" album.
