Rapper 2Pac was born as Tupac Amaru Shakur on June 16, 1971 in New York, becoming one of the most controversial gangsta rap artists of the 90's. His on-going affair with the media was based on his trouble with the law and a questionable lifestyle, as much as it was on his musical output. His debut LP, "2Pacalypse Now", was released in '92, "Me Against the World" followed in '95. Signing to Death Row Records, he recorded the double-LP "All Eyez on Me" shortly after his release from jail. Later that year he was shot to death from a driving car.
